Live Virtual Session on Gender Diversity
for Transgender Day of Remembrance
(November 20th)
TransFocus delivers dynamic and engaging learning content tailored to equip your staff to respectfully interact with people who are part of the 2SLGBTQIA+ community. This page provides an overview of our popular education session around Transgender Day of Remembrance every year.
In this session, we use strong visuals combined with compelling statistics to break down the complexities and nuances of issues in customer and employee interactions. We bring an open and personable approach to relieve and equip attendees. The session is 1.5 hours long and uses polls to engage attendees. The following key topics are covered during the session:
Background and meaning of Trans Day of Remembrance
Overview of human rights legislations and societal shifts that provide greater protections to transgender people
Overview of key terms and concepts and terms related to gender identity, sex at birth, gender expression, and sexual orientation
Deepening understanding of the unique challenges faced by transgender people with a focus on statistics and stories related specifically to employment
How to recover from one’s own mistakes and help others recover from theirs.
The session can be recorded for internal use for up to 1 year after the live session. Attendees receive two key takeaways, including a workbook, which reinforces the essential content of the course and helps your employees develop more supportive skills.
