Live Virtual Session on Gender Diversity
for Transgender Day of Visibility
(March 31st)
TransFocus delivers learning experiences that are reflective, grounded and shaped by the realities trans and non-binary people are living in right now. Our annual Trans Day of Visibility session is designed to help organisations move beyond symbolic recognition and engage seriously with what visibility means in practice.
Trans Day of Visibility is often framed as a celebration, and it is. It is a moment to recognise trans and non-binary people and the ways they contribute to our communities. At the same time, visibility is not always simple. In one space it can feel affirming and expansive. In another, it can feel precarious or risky. This session holds both truths.
Together, we explore how visibility operates in everyday life, how political and legal shifts shape people’s willingness to be open, and why context influences whether being seen feels supported or unsafe.
The 1.5 hour session combines strong visuals, interactive polls and facilitated discussion. Participants are invited to reflect, ask questions and connect what they are learning directly to their teams and organisational context.
Topics include:
The history and purpose of Trans Day of Visibility
How visibility functions within trans communities and why it can involve both celebration and risk
The ongoing calculations many trans people make between safety, stability and openness
Legal protections and broader societal shifts affecting trans and non-binary people
Core concepts related to gender identity, gender expression and respectful interaction
Practical approaches to allyship and responding constructively in everyday situations
The session can also include a storytelling component, where attendees are invited to share their own experiences and reflections related to Transgender Day of Remembrance. This often becomes one of the most powerful parts of the session, deepening connection and empathy within the group.
The session can be recorded for internal use for up to 1 year after the live session. Attendees receive two key takeaways, including a workbook, which reinforces the essential content of the course and helps your employees develop more supportive skills.
We understand this is an important decision.
We would love to discuss it further with you in more detail and answer your questions.
