🌈 Pride with Purpose: Equip Your Team to Show Up with Respect and Confidence

Break through confusion with a clear, engaging session that meets people where they’re at. TransFocus delivers impactful learning content tailored to equip your staff to respectfully interact with people who are part of the 2SLGBTQIA+ community. This page provides an overview of our popular education session around Pride every year from June to August.

In this session, we use strong visuals combined with compelling statistics to break down the complexities and nuances of issues in customer and employee interactions. We bring an open and personable approach to relieve and support attendees. Our sessions are rooted in respect and curiosity, not criticism—because real learning happens when people feel safe. The session is 1.5 hours long, uses polls to engage attendees, and ends with a 10-minute Q&A. We offer this session in English and inclusive French. The following key topics are covered during the session:

✧ Conduct a thought-provoking icebreaker to ease into the topic
✧ Provide the origin of Pride and what is means today
✧ Unpack the 2SLGBTQIA+ acronym and underscore the differences between gender identity and sexual orientation
✧ Deepening understanding of the unique challenges faced by 2SLGBTQIA+ people depending on their levels of outness
✧ Tips and tools for how to be an active ally of 2SLGBTQIA+ people (whether or not there are any known 2SLGBTQIA+ people on the team)

The session can be recorded for internal use among your employees for up to 1 year after the session. Attendees receive two key takeaways, including a workbook with exercises and examples that reinforce the essential content of the session and helps your employees develop more supportive skills.
